Six Spur Ranch and Rescue is run by a dedicated team of animal lovers in Maud, Texas, committed to giving every animal a safe and loving home.
Founded by Richard McGuire, Six Spur Ranch and Rescue is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit sanctuary located in Maud, Texas. We rescue, rehabilitate, and rehome animals of all kinds — from dogs and horses to cattle, goats, and everything in between.

Richard McGuire
A native Floridian with a lifelong love for animals, this retired transplant packed up and moved to the Lone Star State to turn a lifelong dream into reality. In Maud, Texas, he founded Six Spur Ranch and Rescue, a dedicated animal sanctuary built to give animals a second chance. Alongside a small, passionate team of employees, he now dedicates his retirement to rescuing animals, providing them with a safe haven, and running dedicated adoption services.

He now channels his technical expertise and personal passions into studying God's word, target shooting, and managing an e-commerce platform for collectibles.

Following closely in her mother's footsteps, Lillie brings fresh energy and a shared family passion to Six Spur Ranch and Rescue. Working side-by-side with Lisa, she plays a vital role in the daily care, enrichment, and rehabilitation of the sanctuary's rescues. Her hands-on dedication ensures that the next generation of animal advocates is alive and well in Maud, Texas.

A proud native Texan with a lifelong devotion to animal welfare, Lisa is the operational backbone of Six Spur Ranch and Rescue. Her deep-rooted love for animals shines through in her daily care and management of the sanctuary. Described by the owner as completely invaluable, Lisa brings a lifetime of local knowledge, compassion, and unmatched dedication to ensuring the ranch runs smoothly and every animal feels safe.
